Ever since its inception, K.J. Somaiya Institute of Management Studies and  Research has been on the path of success with its quality management education, training and research.  The institute was ranked 9th among top 50 business schools of 2011 in India. It was set up in the year 1981 as a joint endeavor of K. J. Somaiya Trust and Somaiya Vidyavihar. The college was awarded as the “Best Management Institute” of the year 2008 in Mumbai. It has also been awarded with an ISO 9001:2000 certificate

K.J. Somaiya Institute of Management Studies and  Research endeavours to contribute to the sustained development and complete growth of the nation and world at large by forming students imbued with a spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship. The flagship course of the institute is Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) for which admission happens through CAT. It also conducts courses such as Master of Management Studies (MMS), Master of Computer Applications (MCA), post graduate diploma in Management-International Business (PGDM-IB), and post graduate diploma Management-Retail Management (PGDM-RM). All these courses are affiliated to the University of Mumbai.

Doctorate-level courses, management development programmes and in-company training programmes are also conducted.

Admissions:

Eligibility Criteria :

Student pursuing or having completed a minimum of three year graduate programme in any discipline with minimum 50% aggregate marks from any University, recognized by Association of Indian Universities (AIU)/AICTE, as eligible for Post Graduate Studies in Management. Those students who are appearing for their final examination in April - May 2013 can also apply. However, they should produce documentary evidence of having passed the graduation examination with minimum aggregate marks as specified above, on or before 31st July 2013, failing which the students will forfeit their admission. The student must have completed the graduation examination process before joining the Institute. No leave of absence will be granted after the date of joining for any such examinations.

Selection Process :-

Shortlisted candidates based on their scores of CAT /CMAT any other criteria will be called for second round of selection process at Bengaluru, Delhi, Hyderabad (tentative), Kolkata, and Mumbai.

K.J Somaiya Institute of Management Studies and Research is located in Somaiya Vidyavihar, Mumbai. The campus has well-equipped computer lab, all equipped with the latest technology. All the classrooms of the institute are well furnished with all modern facilities such as air conditioners and mounted LCD projectors.
