Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University in Hyderabad is a university that was founded by the Government of Andhra Pradesh in the year 1965. The University mainly deals with under graduate engineering programs. Initially, the department was affiliated to Osmania University and in year 1972, when it became a constituent of the University, it was renamed to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University JNTU College of Engineering.

Being one of the leading engineering colleges in Hyderabad, it offers a wide range of technical courses to those students who want to enter into the evergreen field of engineering. It offers 4 years full time Under Graduate courses in Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrics & Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering and Metallurgical engineering. The University also provides Master level courses that include M.Tech, MSIT, MBA, MBA and MSc.

Admissions:

The University admissions department does the admissions to post-graduate and research programs The department has director who conduct the admissions.

The admission to regular B.Tech and B.Pharm. Programmes are made based on the merit secured in Engineering, Agricultural and Medical Common Entrance Test (EAMCET) conducted by A.P. State Council for Higher Education.

Similarly, admission to B.Tech (For three tear Diploma Holders) is based on the merit secured in the Engineering Common Entrance Test (ECET) conducted by the A.P. State Council for Higher Education. The diploma holders successful in ECET are also eligible for admission into regular B.Tech. courses, at Second Year level. JNTU conducts an ntrance examination of B.Tech. (Correspondence-cum-Contact Course) for admitting employed Diploma Holders of Engineering.

The University is nestled in the heart of the city at Kukkatpally. The University lies amidst 100 acres fully residential campus that is divided into clusters of buildings. It has well maintained book library, computer lab with high speed internet connectivity. All the science labs are highly maintained and have been equipped with modern machineries and equipments. The institute also offers separate hostel facility for boys and girls. The library hosts a collection of nearly 61,414 books with 124 journals and periodicals. The institute also offers various facilities such as separate hostel facility, canteen, medical and transportation facility.
