Institute of Jute Technology (IJT) is the government engineering college in West Bengal, approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and affiliated to West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT). This college was founded by the University of Calcutta and Indian Jute Mill’s Association (IJMA) jointly in the year 1951.

It offers regular 8-Semester B.Tech in Jute & Fibre Technology Course and M.Tech Degree Course in Textile Technology (Technical Textiles).
 


Admissions:

 Admission to the college is through the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) conducted by the West Bengal Joint Examination Admissions Board (WBJEEB).

The admission criteria are strictly based on his/her performance in the qualifying examinations.
