Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi was established in the year 1961. The institute is basically known for its excellent technical training to those students who aspire of become an engineer in their future. But in the year 1997, the institute developed a separate department for management studies after realizing the demand for more business schools across the country. All the courses that are offered by the institute are approved by A.I.C.T.E. (Govt. of India).
The institute after feeling the needs for highly trained qualified professionals in corporate world in India as well as abroad, the department of management studies started imparting two years full time Post Graduate Programme of MBA (Master of Business Administration) with special focus on Telecommunication Systems Management.

The Library System of IIT, Delhi consists of a Central Library and 18 departmental libraries which collectively support the teaching, research and extension programmes of the Institute. There are 12 hostels for boys and girls (10 for boys and two for girls. Then there is Student Activity Center (SAC), where all the festivals, extracurricular activities and students’ celebrations are carried out.
