From a modest beginning with only 20 students in 1981, Government Dental College grew to celebrate its 20 years of teaching in the field of dentistry. The institute is located in Rohtak in Haryana and is known for imparting quality dental education. It is recognized by the Dental Council of India and is affiliated to Pt. B.D. Sharma Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences.

In last 20 years, the college has contributed a lot in dentistry by generating some highly qualified professionals in the field through its various under graduate and post graduate programs. One of the main courses, offered by the institute is BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery). The institute also stresses on Master level program of Dentistry in various disciplines.
