Being a doctor is one of the most respected professions anywhere. Especially in India where it is one of the most sought after career options after 12th. With lots of students appearing for medical entrance exams, it is not easy to get admission to prestigious college. We look into some of the best medical entrance exams in India 2016. Most of the exams have nearly the same eligibility criteria which is clearing Class 12th exam with Physics, Chemistry, Biology as subjects.
AIPMT 2014
1. AIIMS Entrance Exam: It is the top priority of every aspiring doctor to clear this exam. After all it offers only 50 seats.
AIIMS paper pattern: The exam paper consists of 200 multiple choice questions. It tests the students in Biology, Physics, Chemistry and General Knowledge. There is negative marking. The duration of exam is 3 and half hours.
2. National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) This is a recently introduced entrance exam. It is conducted for undergraduate as well as postgraduate MBBS and BDS courses. As of now the exam has been suspended following the order of Supreme Court of India.
3. CMC Vellore Entrance Exam: This entrance test is conducted by Christian Medical College of Vellore (Andhra Pradesh). After AIIMS, this is the most prestigious medical entrance exams in India.
CMC Vellore Entrance Exam paper pattern: The question paper consists of objective (or multiple choice) questions. The candidate are asked 60 questions each on Physics, Chemistry and Biology. There is also a general knowledge section which has 120 questions. The duration of the exam is 3 hours and 10 minutes.
Various entrance exams (national and state) are being conducted by various medical colleges for admission to their courses.
