Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Kolkata is one of the oldest and best management institutes in India that was established in the year 1961 by Government of West Bengal. The institute is known for offering excellent Management programmes to those people who want to make business management as their profession.
The programmes that are offered by the college are designed to prepare students with current and emerging theories, techniques and practices of management that can be used in dealing the challenges in today’s business world. It is the first institute in the IIM system that has entered the 50th year of its journey.

Institute offers various management programmes, whose admissions are based on different entrance exams and eligibility criteria.
Applicants willing to seek admission in the IIM Kolkata can register through online or offline process. Application forms will be available on the official website of the institute.
Institute accepts valid scores of CAT entrance exam which is conducted by IIMs itself for post graduate and fellowship programs. Along with the CAT scores, candidate must be graduated in any discipline with minimum 50% marks (45% marks for reserved category) from any recognized university or those appearing for the final year can also apply.
Final selection will be completely done on the merit basis and will be called for Written Aptitude Test, Group Discussion and Personal Interview.
Instituteis located on the outskirts of Kolkata i.e. Joka. The institute has a sprawling campus of 135 acres that has several buildings and blocks. It has four large lecture halls and several modern and well equipped classrooms. The Auditorium at IIM Calcutta is considered to be the best among any academic campus in India. It has a capacity to intake 750 people at a time. The institute has the largest Management library in Asia that hosts several collections of books on Management, periodicals and journals. IIM-C has 4 main hostels for students pursuing its PGDM, PGDCM and Fellow programmes.
Institute has their own placement cell that is looked by the concerned officer. This concerned officer acts as a link between institutes and corporate houses. The placement cell helps the academics bright students to sharpen their practical skill by giving proper training and placements through campus selection such that they can take their first step towards success.
